Grow Old With You by Adam Sandler, from The Wedding Singer (Start at :29 to skip intro!)
This post is continued from where we left off here!
So we arrived at the front of the Art Museum, ran down a few steps, ran up to the top, made our way through the crowd (which included quite a few wedding parties taking pictures!) and sent Brianna on her way in David’s direction. It had been the most perfect day weather-wise, and the sun was just starting to set. David had found a saxophone player to come over and play during the proposal (AMAZING!) and was ready and waiting when we arrived. We stayed back a bit to give them some privacy for such a personal moment, and our Stepdad, Russ, was hiding on the steps closer to the museum, capturing it all in photos and video!
I love that she said yes before he even had a chance to ask! They’re so adorable, and we couldn’t be happier for them!!
We took a few pictures together, then Kyle & I split off to head up to the party while they took some more pictures with Russ and made some calls before making their engagement facebook official!
Then they got a text from my sister saying that she was with a friend who wanted to see them and say congratulations before they headed to dinner. Russ drove them up to Northern Liberties where they met Rachael, came up the elevator, and arrived at the party. Brie thought they were just meeting a few people and was surprised that there was an event going on, turning around as if they should leave before David took her hand, led her forward and she realized what was actually going on! Then we all celebrated and had a great time!!
Featured Song: I’m Alive by Michael Franti & Spearhead (I know this song is in both posts- it’s just too perfect)!
There was even a toast by David (sorry it turns sideways)!
When we were all safe inside, the weather took a turn for the worse, with wind and cold and rain, and eventually even a little sleet and snow! It was literally the day with all of the seasons, but we got SO lucky that it waited on the cold and gross ones until all of our outdoor fun was complete, and that the roads were still safe when we were ready to head home!
After the party, David & Brie went out with some friends and made this Engagement Mannequin Video, which I love!
Gonna Fly Now by Maynard Ferguson, from Rocky
The party ended, we all said our goodbyes and knew that we’d soon have another fun occasion to celebrate together! It was a blast of a day, and I’m so proud of my brother for his vision and the way that he put the whole thing together for her. He’s always been creative, meticulous and full of fun, so I expected nothing less- but I was happy to help make it exactly what he’d imagined, for a day that she couldn’t have possibly imagined, but LOVED nonetheless! Kyle and I were sad to return the Audi that night and head home (no slumber party for us! We were exhausted!), but I went back to celebrate some more and recap with the happy fiancées the next day!
A BIG thank you to Wil, my sister’s former boss at SEER Interactive, who made the event space available to us and made it so easy to coordinate! Thanks to our family who set the party up while we were off galavanting around the city, and to my friends Molly & Kaitlyn who came down and helped set up, bartend, maintain the food, and clean up afterward. We truly couldn’t have done it without you! Thanks to all of the family and friends who were able to join us, and to those who will be present for the next big celebration, we can’t wait to party and dance with you!!
Congratulations, David & Brie! Love you!
A loving little sister!
